T-SHIRT MIT FLUGZEUGAUFDRUCK / T-SHIRT WITH IMPRINT OF AIRPLANES
Das »Warum« ist immer eine schwierige Frage … Ich war happy, dieses T-Shirt gefunden zu haben, weil es so genau den Zustand wiedergibt, als ich Zuhause verließ: Ich war Teil der »Anti-Kriegs«-Kampagne, wir protestierten gegen die Militärindustrie, haben dauernd darüber geredet … zu der Zeit, als ich das T-Shirt bedruckte, war das so mein Ding … Der Wirbelsturm Tracy verwüstete Darwin zu Weihnachten 1974, ein paar Tage bevor ich Deutschland verließ, um nach Australien zu gehen am 2. Januar 1975. Insgesamt war das T-Shirt Zeuge einer Wahnsinns-Zeit meiner Vergangenheit, und ich hab’s ziemlich gerne gemocht.
Why is always a tricky question … I felt lucky to have found that T-Shirt, because it so accurately reflects where I was at, at the time of leaving home: I was part of the anti-war people, protesting against the military industrial complex, was what I was on about. While I printed that T-Shirt I was into that kind of thing … Cyclone Tracy devastated Darwin at Christmas 1974, days before I left Germany to come to Australia 2nd of January 1975. So all in all the T Shirt was a real blast from the past and I was fond of it.
