FLOW ZWISCHEN REALEN UND VIRTUELLEN ORTEN / FLOW BETWEEN LOCATIONS
Die Befragung nach der Wirklichkeit von Kunst und die Beschäftigung mit relevanten Aspekten von Repräsentation, Identität, Sinnlichkeit und Ästhetik ist bei Angela Dorrer im thematisch orientierten Schwerpunkt Kommunikation angesiedelt. Denn im Bereich von Kommunikation geht mit zunehmender elektronischer Vernetzung eine grundlegende Veränderung im Verständnis des Körpers einher. (…) In physisch entgrenzter Weise werden die Objekte im Mund hergestellt, sind Produkte des Kaüns und werden im virtüllen Raum gespiegelt. Der Prozess des Kunstmachens entspricht demnach einer Einverleibung und Entäusserung gleichermassen (…) Gleichsam als Metapher dafür steht innerhalb der Gesamtkonzeption das Kaün. Fotos, Video, Aktion. Derartige Vernetzungen und Anspielungen auf die Wahrnehmung haben System, sind Teil von Dorrers Konzept. Dazu gehört aber auch das Nebeneiander alter und neür Technologien (Internet), als Mittel wechselseitiger Beeinflussung. Dieser spezifische 'Flow' zwischen den verschiedenen (realen und virtüllen) Orten scheint es zu sein, der für Dorrer die Position des Dazwischen, des 'in between'zum Gegenstand des künstlerischen Interesses macht.
With Angela Dorrer's works, the inquiry of the reality of art and the concern with relevant aspects of representation, identity, sensuality and aesthetic is placed in a thematically oriented focus. Since in the area of the communication, a fundamental shift in the understanding of the human body is a consequence of increased electronic networking (…). In a physically (…) way, the objects are created in the mouth, are products of chewing and mirrored in virtual space. The process of making art therefore corresponds to assimilating and relinquishing to the same degree (…). At the same time, chewing is a metaphor within the concept. Photos, videos, action. This kind of connecting and allusions to perception have a system, and are a part of Dorrer's concept. This includes the juxtaposition of old and new technologies (Internet) as a means of oscillating influence. For Dorrer, this specific "flow" between the various (real and virtual) locations seems to be what makes the position of "in between" into an object of artistic interest. (…)
